HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST GLASSES LENSES
HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST GLASSES LENSES
We offer frames outfitted with some of the best eyewear lenses on the market. Our lenses are impact resistant, almost shatter–proof, and outfitted with UVA/UVB protective coatings and high quality anti–scratch and anti-reflective coating.
All single vision lenses are produced by our factory with vigorous multi point quality control system. After the order is placed - lenses are surfaced according to your prescription in our own laboratories.
WHAT TYPES OF EYEGLASSES LENSES DO YOU OFFER?
We offer premium quality polycarbonate, high index single vision lenses and Progressive Digital lenses.
Single vision lenses are prescribed if you need correction for one field of vision, either for distance, intermediate (computer), or items up close (near vision).
Polycarbonate Single Vision Lenses
Polycarbonate Single Vision lenses are impact-resistant and are a good choice for people with active lifestyle and mild to medium prescription.
The Polycarbonate single vision lenses are designed for those who need to correct one field of vision, be it be distance or near. So if you suffer from myopia or hyperopia and are in the market for a new pair of lenses, these are ideal for you.
Polycarbonate Lenses are thin and very strong, which makes them easy and safe to wear. They're the most common type of prescription lens.
How much do polycarbonate lenses cost?
Polycarbonate lenses are included in the price of the frame.
High Index Single-Vision Lenses
High Index Single-Vision Lenses are made of a thinner material (index 1.67). We recommend this type of lenses if your prescription is stronger than SPH +/- 4 and/or CYL +/- 2
High Index Lenses (1.67 material) are much thinner than polycarbonate lenses for stronger prescriptions. If your SPH is higher than +/-4 or CYL is
higher than +/-2 we suggest upgrading your lenses to a High Index Lens.
With stronger prescriptions your lenses get thicker and heavier. High-index lenses are an ultra–thin and lightweight alternative to our standard index lenses and help to reduce the weight of the eyeglasses, while also preventing the “magnifying Coke bottle look” typically caused by thicker lenses.
We recommend high–index lenses for all prescriptions of +/-4.00 sphere and stronger, as well as for prescriptions with a significant correction for astigmatism.
How much do High Index single-vision lenses cost?
Prescriptions over +/-4 SPH and +/-2 CYL require a high-index lens that costs $75 extra.
Vint & York offers Premium Digital Progressive Lenses that are available with most of our optical frames. Progressive lenses are multifocals to correct distance and reading in one set of lenses. We offer Digital Progressive lenses in polycarbonate and high Index materials.
How much do progressive lenses cost?
Progressive lenses start at $225 on top of the frame you’re choosing from our store.
Reading Glasses Lenses
All our glasses can be made into reading glasses.
Simple reading lenses help with your everyday near vision problems. They are single vision designed so you can only use them for this purpose.
As it does not correct astigmatism, this option is created for people who need glasses only for reading purposes. The reading glass strength you can choose is from +0.25 up to +3.
The reading lenses can be fitted on any frames you like so you can choose the style that best suits you!
How to order reading glasses
All you have to do is add the frames you want to your cart, place your order
and then select the kind of lenses you want (READERS) and the reading glass strength you need (from +0.25, up to +3).
CAN I ORDER NON PRESCRIPTION GLASSES, WITH PLAIN LENSES?
At the checkout phase, select if you:
I plan on wearing blank lenses - Optical frames will include anti-reflective polycarbonate lenses. We’d recommend this option if you keep the lenses in
your glasses and wear them a fair bit. These lenses will give you the same protection and aesthetic benefits as any of our high quality prescription lenses.
I plan on replacing the lenses - We recommend this option if your optician or doctor plans on replacing these lenses for you. This option is best if we can’t provide you with prescription lenses because you have a very strong prescription.
Because you don’t really need glasses but you sometimes want a professional or hipster-nerdy look. It’s all about which frames best fits your face and compliments your features.
Plano lenses are just simple lenses, with no corrective or medical purpose. They are a stylish accessory that you can include in your everyday outfits.

HOW LONG DO LENSES LAST?
Lens durability is very important. That’s why we use a high quality durable Anti-Scratch Resistance Coating that helps your lenses hold up better against wear and tear. Polycarbonate lenses are the softest eyeglass lens and the most impact-resistant, and the coating we apply increases its lens durability.
