STEP 5 OF 5: Choose Lenses Material
A high index lens provides a number of benefits to the wearer:
- Are thinner and less noticeable in the profile of the glasses.
- High index lenses reduce eye distortion. (also known as the "coke bottle" effect)
- These lenses are more lightweight making the glasses more comfortable to wear.
Pluses: Love the look.
Minuses: The frame is a bit crooked and local optical shops will not adjust it (and thereby assume liability if the frame should break). Such is life in the very rural state of Maine, where things do not operate the same as they do in America.
The lens looks more grey than blue in person. That was a disappointment.
